Reliable baseline scores

Our standardised baseline maths tests are used at the start of the autumn term. Each test generates a standardised score for every child, based on a large national sample of over 35,000 children. This provides a reliable baseline for each child at the start of a new academic year.

Who are these for?

These baseline maths assessments are designed for schools that want a standardised score for each child at the start of the autumn term. They are particularly useful where a consistent and comparable measure of attainment is required, rather than focusing on detailed objective-level analysis.

No marking – save time!

Our autumn term baseline maths tests are completed online and marked automatically. There is no need to upload data, and results are available immediately, saving valuable time for teachers. Children in KS1 complete one arithmetic and one reasoning test. KS2 children complete one arithmetic and two reasoning tests.

Class-level insights

When children complete a maths baseline test, a gap analysis report is generated. It identifies the weakest areas of maths across the class and highlights the most difficult questions. Reports can be downloaded as CSV or Excel files.

School-wide overview

Clear reporting allows senior leaders to quickly see the percentage of children who are ‘on track’ at the start of the year, including those working at the expected or higher standard. Comparisons with national data can be made by year group.
